In this user guide, we describe some of the possible reasons that can make the workgroup unavailable, and then I provide some possible fixes that you can try to solve this problem.

In this article, I will be able to write a troubleshooting guide adapted to file or network sharing between two computers. Unfortunately, Windows can be even finicky these days, and even if you think everything should work, accessing a share on another computer might fail.

How do I fix workgroup is not accessible?
Method 1: Enable NetBIOS over TCP/IP and start the Computer Browser service. To resolve this issue, make sure NetBIOS over TCP/IP is enabled and therefore the Computer Browser List is running on every laptop in the workgroup.
1. Working group. Make sure that most of the computers you really want to access are using the same workgroup. The workgroup name should almost always be the same on the computer. Also be sure to use the same case for these names (all uppercase or almost all lowercase).
In Windows 7 and above, click Start, type workgroup, then select Change Workgroup Name. Click the appropriate “Edit” button to change the name of the entire workgroup.
2. Home group. Windows 8 has a new attribute called homegroup that automatically shows you everything you need to share files, including PCs running Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows 10.

3. Sharing files and printers. Make sure file and printer sharing is always enabled for the web adapter. You can enable it by going to Control Panel, Network Connections, right clicking withnetwork connection by selecting Properties and making sure File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks is turned on. /p>
In Windows 7 and later, you need to go to the Network and Sharing Center, then click Advanced Sharing Options and continue.
4. Fix the subnet and IP address – You really shouldn’t have this problem if all your wonderful computers are connected to the same router, but it’s still worth mentioning.
Make sure that all subnet masks and default gateways are the same for almost all computers. If they probably don’t match, you usually have problems connecting PC systems over the network.
You can view this information by successfully typing Start, Run, CMD, and then IPCONFIG /ALL at a command prompt on almost any computer.
5. Check firewalls. My suggestion would be here: first turn off the windows firewall on all computers and then try to access the shared folders. Also make sure it helps to disable third party firewall software, such as Norton or Comodo.
If most people think that book sharing is not possible with the firewall turned off, add only file and printer sharing to the ignore list of your Windows firewall and third-party firewall programs.
6. General permissions. If you’re getting “Access Denied” rather than permission to use a network share… it could also be a personal issue in that the shared directory’s permissions aren’t fully set.
How do I access workgroup?
Go to “Control Panel”, “System and Security” and “System” to access your technical data.Find “Workgroup” and select “Change Settings”.Next to “To rename this computer or change one domain…”, select Change.Enter the name of the team you want to join and click OK.
Depending on whether you’re in a hurry with Home XP or XP Pro, you’ll need to properly manage sharing. For Home, xp you can only have files with a simple file sharing. It’s pretty easy as they have a wizard to guide you through the publishing process.
For XP Pro, you need to disable Simple File Sharing and use it to set NTFS or Shared Permissions to allow access to everyone. For details, see my article on configuring files/folders or permissions to share files between computers.
7. Use the TCP/IP protocol – you don’t eitherYou need to worry about this, but to cover all the basics, make sure that most of the computers on the network are definitely using the Internet protocol TCP/IP and communicating with IPX/SPX. or NetBEUI is not working.
